What should I wear?
Keep an eye on the weather and dress accordingly. Our recommendation is gym wear and 'grippy' shoes. Don't wear anything that will get heavy when wet.
Do I have to wear shoes?
Yes! All participants must wear shoes for safety. Courses vary depending on location, but expect to race over grass, sand, and water.
Will I get wet?
Yes! Several obstacles will take you waist deep in the ocean. You won't be required to swim.
Do I need to be fit?
Not at all, Beach Warrior is about fun and having a go. For general participants obstacles are compulsory, but you can choose to skip any obstacle and continue the course.
What if I can't complete an obstacle?
No worries! We will have a penalty run set up for anyone who can not complete an obstacle.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Beach Warrior is an all-weather event and will ago ahead in most conditions. Certain obstacles may be removed from the course in the event of high winds.
When should I get to the beach?
We recommend arriving at least 1.5 hours before your start time. This allows you enough time to park, check-in, warm-up etc.
How do I know which wave I'm in?
You will be emailed 24 hours before race day confirming your race start time.
How will I know what to do on the obstacles (what are the rules)?
Details of the obstacles will be forwarded to each participant prior to the event along with details on your check in time. Details of each obstacle and the 'rules' around completing each obstacle will also be on the website. Each of the attendants (officials) at an obstacle will be briefed in relation to how to complete that obstacle safely and fairly and can advise/coach participants as they complete the obstacle.
How long does it take to complete the course?
It will depend on your fitness and how hard you push yourself. Most participants will finish the course between 30 and 45 minutes.
